 5 THINGS YOU MUST DO WHEN YOU START TO LOSE INTEREST IN LIFE

Suicide has been a way of terminating self-life through unnatural means by mankind for centuries. Men and women from most happy and wealthy societies have been choosing to commit suicide. As per, the American foundation for suicide prevention, suicide is listed as the 11th leading cause of death in the US. 48000 plus Americans died in 2021 by suicide and 1.7 M suicide attempts were made. On the other hand suicide rate in animals is almost negligible. Rarely you would find a dog jumping from the 25th floor to finish off its life, Or a cat waiting to jump off the bridge into the river with the intent to die.

So suicide has very less to do with external circumstances and everything to do with inner circumstances i.e. the sense of self or the way humans define themselves. Humans have a greater tendency to try to define themselves in a particular way. Say for a dog, it’s enough for it to feel and perceive itself as a dog; whereas, for humans, it has to be more than "just a human"... one has to be an artist, a writer, a doctor or an engineer or a father or brother or a mother than being human. Mankind is consumed by the Definition of self or "purpose syndrome"1- SUICIDAL IDEATION? ITS OKAY.

Suicidal ideation is basically the voice of the inner self. The nostalgic voice of the real self, the voice of the heart of the heart beyond our definition. Our brain makes way for us to accomplish goals that we define for ourselves. As we stride through the opportunities and obstacles, a feeling of emptiness starts to creep into our lives the same feeling coupled with external circumstances eventually.

Imagine you’re a Marine veteran of the Iraq war and you inadvertently or believing the ideals U lived by in 2004, killed a bunch of apparently bad guys in a military operation, and now you don't think it was the right thing to do and thereby you start identifying yourself as a murderer so now you’re sense of self defines you to be a murderer but your real self beyond definitions. This has to change. Realization is the key. Realise that you have a calling.2- PAUSE

Don't ignore the call from yourself. you should know that your real self is not what you have always loved defining yourself so far. No matter how hard your brain is used to and advocates in favour of your current definition /sense of self, take the wings of freedom and start your new flight to re-discover yourself. Remember that all external factors (i.e. any terminal illness, financial constraints, broken relationships etc.) consume lots of your energy just stop running and take a pause.
