Apocalypse II

Apocalypse II

So we sat down in deafening silence and decorated absence, Painting over the void that dug into our hearts, Tucking in the lamentations, the things we should’ve let out and clinging to the very things that made fodder out of our dreams Forever quickly started shrinking into seconds, Stubborn hope took root in the crevices of our hearts, Nature was rejected in favour of digital prisons And death tolls rose with the changing seasons. The fairytale turned to survival of the fittest, The offices of kindness and love were vacated, God fled to heaven in fear of what He had created — And the good ones bled alone to an end that was fated.

notes: I was watching a documentary when a quote from the Spy Kids movie popped up, a quote that says “Do you think God stays in heaven because He too lives in fear of what He has created?”..It really got me thinking and I started writing as I thought and this utopian picture of an apocalypse popped up (as seen In the piece above). I hope it proves somewhat interesting or good for pondering. Thanks for reading!
