How do we know this? Thanks to Birdcast there’s a real time data analysis and study of bird migratory behavior that hopefully will help with conservation actions on the ground to help our feathered friends not die on the journey or be wiped from the face of the planet in extinction.

While weather surveillance radar plays an important part in gathering this information on the numbers, flight directions, speeds, and altitudes of birds — this is also about: Changing climate, habitat losses, pollution, wildfires, and dwindling food sources have all of our feathered friends on the run.
