 Why Not Buy The Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max?

According to the DXOMark test, it is currently the second-best photomobile in the world. So is there any reason not to buy it and wait for the next generation? Why not buy it? I’m not addressing the question of price or possibly which device you would switch from, but I’ll objectively look at the reasons to wait for the next generation.

Longer battery life

We’ve already bitten the bullet on display size. Even though the iPhone 15 Pro has the A17 Pro chip, which is supposed to be powerful and power-efficient, with a bunch of gaming features and improved machine learning, we didn’t see the battery life go anywhere, which is a definite disappointment.

But next year, Apple (hence TSMC) will already have more experience in manufacturing 3nm chips and could make the A18 Pro more power-efficient. The new display options could also contribute to longer life for iPhones on a single charge.

Display size

Looking at the iPhone 15 Pro Max, its dimensions are 159.9 x 76.70 x 8.25 mm with a weight of 221 g. Its display is then 6.7 inches diagonally. iPhone 16 Ultra should get a larger display, though, which those who want the largest possible display area may actually like.

So the diagonal should be 6.9 inches, and the dimensions of the device should be 163 x 77.58 x 8.25 mm with a weight of 255 g. Moreover, the OLED display panel could use microlens array (MLA) technology to improve brightness and reduce power consumption.

FaceID under the display

When Apple this year introduced Dynamic Island to the entry-level iPhone 15 lineup as well, it’s not an added feature to the Pro-branded one. But to make the company’s models more distinct again, we could finally see a simple display cutout for the camera, with the sensors for Face ID already hidden under the display. However, the animations and Dynamic Island capabilities could still remain without issue.

Ultra designation

Many of us expected it to come this year, but it didn’t, and we have the classic designations charged to all four models of the new iPhones. It’s still possible, though, that Apple is going to make the Ultra designation for its phones, too, not just the Apple Watch.

Many rumours then mention how just one of the iPhone 16 lineups will be marked with this moniker. iPhone 16 Ultra should also logically be the most feature-packed new iPhone and should be something special.
